At HPF, we are driven by the belief that we are created by God Almighty and that He has a purpose for each human being including the vulnerable elderly parent. We partner with local Christian institutions that provide counseling, prayers, and biblical guidance to help those of all religious backgrounds to help them attain their God-given potential.
The elderly parent is often lonely and in need of a listening ear and a comforting hand. The continuous neglect in this area can lead to depression and other adverse mental conditions which flames a vicious cycle. HPF partners with institutions that organizes visits and celebrates special events be it a birthday, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Grandparents Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Christmas Day and the like.
HPF seeks to provide the basic needs including food, clothing, and shelter to the neglected. We do this directly or in partnership with other organizations. Organizations who genuinely know of such a need can also submit a request for assistance. .
Essay competitions within the secondary school system is a way for young adults to pause and reflect on the blessing of having an elderly parent or grandparent be a part of their lives. HPF believes that having students pause to think through the topic and document their thoughts is a way for them to awaken to the topic and be more sensitive in their daily encounters which could mean a simple opening of door or simply smiling at an old woman crossing the street. The award from HPF to the student is based on their willingness to spend 80% of the award on their elderly person of choice.
